The Year is Ending But Journey Begins

As we come to this stage one can say the year is ending, but the same statement would not apply to the journey here in RLabs. The journey has just began. I have been here for two months but i can tell a lifetime story. The story to tell is full of reality and life changing experiences.
I can write million pages but to cut the long story short i have;
-discover and explore problems and solutions
-learn new concepts in thinking
-become more creative/inventive
-become more open-minded and learn how to avoid mental blocks
-appreciate diversity and discover self
-use intuition and common sense in problem solving
-experience design basics and exercise the “more than one solution” approach
-deal with peer pressure
-enjoy learning.
In addition, the activities helped me to:
-boost teaming skills
-increase interaction and cooperation
-improve communication between students

Better days

A clear message has been sent for the past days. You don't need a rocket scientist to see that we are building a future here in RLabs. Everyday is a new learning curve and team work is a work in progress. Reaching out to the community we say " be part of this, you don't need a curriculum to become one of us".

Reflections.....

As I lie here n reflect on my day I can't help but smile and thank God for his continuing mercy... Smile and thank him for my partner n sister who chose me to go on this journey with her .....
Smile n thank him for my family who r supporting me through n through....
Smile and thank him for our Cape Town family, HQ.....
But most importantly smile n thank him for blessing us with an amazingly awesome team of champions who get up every morning to come and walk this journey with us... This journey to be the change we want t c... This journey to touch n change one life at a time but most of all this journey to give hope to those who think there's nothing left out there for them. Love u guys much... Let the movement continue...

THOUGHT THE MIND SET

Thought,We love thought
But not the jaggling and twisting
Of already existing ideas
I despise that self importance game!

Thought is the willing up of unknown life into consciousness
Thought is the testing of statements on the touchstone of the conscience
Thought is gazing on to the face of life
And reading what can be read

Thought is pondering over experience and coming to conclusion
Thought is not a trick or an exercise or a set of dodges
Thought is a man in his wholeness wholly attending

RLABS WE BUILDING

Rlabs Botswana we building. We building our communities through selling them hope. Our lives are with the people as we live for the people. Personally i have found a home in RLabs Botswana as i was sold a hope the same one i want to transfer to Botswana people.

I know one day i will share my story with the world to know, to know how Rlabs changed my life. today is not about me but about what Rlabs Botswana is about to do. One can never change the world But many can try to sell a positive thought to most and that can change things. Being trained to be one of the facilitators in Botswana has humbled me. The more i think of it, the more i want to give instantly. As most of us has chosen the path the most have received the path.

Our first session as facilitators went very well, but that is beyond our capability only in God's position to understand what transpired. The one who came a distance very far to listen to us was a tremendous experience for a start.

"The dream of Marlon Parker that's what I'm living through
The dream of RLabs Botswana, that's what I'm giving you"

My Other Family

It seems like i have known all these amazing RLabs champions for ages because i feel at home. I think it's very important that all of us sitting in this room, we are champions, we are all winners, and we all deserve to be part of this movement..
I for one i am very happy to be part of this family because they have have been great, have been supportive.

"Each and everyone of you here and at home, I just want to say thank-you. Thank-you very much for all the support and love we have been giving each other. It has been such an awesome experience, will forever cherish this movement.

                                                                             ......Movement of Change..................

SHAKE THE WORLD

It seems that I have been part of this family for long but we met only one week ago, I think everyone who is in the rlabs family feel that way.

Through the week I have experienced the most exiting and shaking discoveries on social networks and idea generation it actually made me feel and see things in a total different direction.

The first thing I learned was idea generation, who ever thought you can do great things with a brick.

When it came to social network I was blown by the things one can do on Gmail, Blogger. Finally through rlabs I have managed to create a twitter account and had a chance to explore it with my colleagues.

!TOGETHER WE CAN SHAKE THE WORLD!

Rlabs Family

There are couple of Setswana saying about a team. There is the one saying  "Moroto wa esi ga o ele", there is the other saying "setshwarwa ke ntsa pedi ga se thata". In English terms one can interpret and say "team work is more effective than an individual effort".

I am saying these because at this very moment i am reaping the fruits of being in a team.Great team i have. I will admit this the greatest feeling i had in a long time. To me working with a team have always been effective and productive compared to my individuals deeds. I will not say am lazy or so but a team seem to bring out the greatest in me. Go team Rlabs Botswana!!!!!!!!!

REFLECTION Revolution

Reflection is the image you see of an object because of light and it can be the assessment of activities undertaken.

How people relate to you, how far you have gone in your life, how you are feeling right now , all these are your decisions! you may be aware and you may still be blaming others for outcomes that you have control over!

for those that are skeptics of change, the reaction to the above statement is that someone is to blame and i "dont understand" because i have never been in your situation.

The FACT! stop shifting blame on all that you have control over and ACT on it!

someone may have deceived you for a long time, someone may be traumatizing you by not supporting the child you have together and you may be frustrated because things are not going your way, may be disapointed by anything or anybody!

Today you just have to decide the future will always be different and you will not be discouraged to persevere! for what you want even if you have been lied to, you will continue to reach for your dream beacuse it may just be 2 centimetres away from reaching it, you will continue loving, for it is better to have honestly loved than not having loved at all.

Not everything will go as planned but EVERY ADVERSITY IS AN OPPRTUNITY!

Reflect for Revolution not Reflect to Regret!

Week 2; Train a Trainer Session

The RLabs Botswana team once again got together to gear up for another week of social revolution on Monday morning. Last week it was introduction to social media focusing mainly on Gmail and this week, we moving up a notch; Moving into micro blogging (twitter).

When the day started only a few champions had a twitter account and some of those who did have a twitter account were still eggs and not active. As we speak, the entire team is tweeting and enjoying it to the fullest, credit to Cape Town's vibrant champion Suzanne Smith.

Looking forward to Saturday's workshop with our young and old, tall and short, beautiful Batswana from all over the country.
